Alexander Elston

Alex is currently a 3 rd year student studying Economics and will be the President of UEAFIS going into 2023/24. He has spent the last academic year abroad in Barcelona at UPF and have also had internships over the past two summers within Risk Management – working at C. Hoare & Co and Bank of New York Mellon. In his free time, he enjoys going to gym, playing football (UEAFC 4s!), and keeping up with sports.

Joshua Li

Vice President & Managing Director of Oakwood Fund

Josh is currently a 3rd year student studying Law, serves as the Managing Director of our fund. He's the guiding hand behind our strategic initiatives, constantly emphasising Oakwood's philosophy and mandate. His early career was he previously interned with Jones Lang LaSalle straight after high school, followed by engaging roles in a variety of small businesses across diverse industries. After graduation, Josh is set on pursuing a career in the
management consulting industry. In his free time, Josh indulges his passion for golf, keeps up with the fast-paced world of Formula One, and relishes catching up over coffee with friends.

Christopher Bebbington

Chris is a final year Economics and Finance student and will be the Treasurer of the Finance and Investing Society for 23/24. He has previously completed work experience at Investment Banks and have completed an internship in broking in the summer of his second year. In his free time, he invests and keep track with current market trends as well as enjoys going to the gym. Chris is a devoted supporter of West Ham United. 

Tom Green

Tom is a second-year Business Finance and Economics student. Previously serving as the first-year course representative of UEAFIS, he now holds the position of Secretary. When not immersed in university work, Tom can be found in the gym, honing his golf skills, or pursuing professional endeavours. His passion for finances drives him to pursue a career in the sector after graduation.

Chelsea Koomson

Director of Oakwood Fund

Chelsea is currently in her second year of an Accounting and Finance degree. As the Director of Business Development, she spearheads the creation of fresh opportunities for the fund and widens its brand visibility. Chelsea is also in charge of managing the fund's communications with guest speakers and partners. After graduation, Chelsea hopes to pursue a career in Investment Banking. She has previously interned with HSBC as an
Investment banking intern. She also enjoys exploring new restaurants, attending concerts, and spending time with family.

Mpoki Mwaipopo

Director of Oakwood Fund

Mpoki is currently a 3 rd year student majoring in Business Finance &  Management. He holds the position of Director of Operations for the fund, bringing a wealth of experience gained since starting as a Junior Analyst in 2022. His current responsibilities involve strategic planning for the upcoming operational year of the fund, including managing the coordination of workshops. Upon graduation, Mpoki plans to embark on a career within the
finance industry.

Ivan Hung

Director of ESG in Oakwood

Ivan is currently the ESG Director for the fund and is in second year of studying
Economics and Finance. As the director of a new pillar of our fund, he plans to create fortnightly ESG reports on the latest and most reliable stocks whilst encompassing Oakwood’s key philosophies. He has aspirations of pursuing further education and entering
the financial/development sector as a consultant to improve asymmetric information and reduce inequality. During free time, he enjoys doing various sports, such as taekwondo, which he has done for 16 years or spending time with friends at the gym.

Sam Huxford

Health and Safety Officer & Director of Oakwood

Sam is a 3rd-year student studying International Relations and Politics and will be the Health and Safety Officer of UEAFIS for 2023/2024. Beyond academics, Sam is a funded retail trader with an unwavering passion for trading and finance. This passion has ignited his desire to continue this journey throughout his professional career. In his free time, Sam enjoys engaging in physical activities like boxing and various combat sports, as well as weightlifting. However, it doesn’t just stop there – Sam also enjoys playing chess and immersing himself in reading across a range of subjects. Hailing from France, Sam has a love for French cuisine. And yes, like a true French connoisseur, he might indulge in a bit of light complaining too!

Denis Shehaj

Denis is a second-year Computer Science student, he brings his technical prowess to the forefront as the Head of Technology for the Finance and Investment Society. With a keen eye for innovation, Denis takes charge of website updates, ensuring seamless digital experiences for all members. His journey includes participation in spring weeks and insight schemes at companies such as L'Oréal and WTW. Denis's interests span the realms of Artificial Intelligence, software development, and the exciting world of investing. During free time, he enjoys playing football, exploring new countries, playing chess and pursuing his fitness goals at the gym.
